Distance from competition site:

  • The Park Plaza is located approximately ten (10) minutes from Humber, fifteen (15) from the Soccer Center, and five (5) minutes from the airport.

TRANSPORTATION


The Toronto International Airport is located approximately ten (10) minutes from Humber.

Pick up and drop off services will be provided for all teams, CCAA executives, officials and special guests on a coach bus.

Teams will have a choice of renting a coach, a school bus, or team vans for the remainder of the championships.

A shuttle service will be available for all VIP, CCAA executives and special guests to and from the host hotel and the Soccer Center for all practices and games.

TEAM TRANSPORTATION


For teams flying in only:

(FQSE, OCAA and OCAA Host/Wildcard will be arriving via road transportation provided by their own institution.

Travel from the airport to the hotel will be provided.

A bus will be provided for those teams arriving by air, courtesy of host.

One (1) additional van will be provided for those teams arriving by air, courtesy of host. Teams are asked to fill out the van request form if desired. You must provide the names of the drivers of the vehicle and submit via fax, a copy of their drivers licence in advance of the event. Drivers must have a valid licence and be at least 21 years of age. The van will be full of gas when picked up. It is the responsibility of the team for fuel during the week, and return the van with a full tank of gas. The van will be on site at the hotel for distribution.

 

PARKING AT VENUE


SOCCER CENTRE:

There is no charge for parking at the event at the Ontario Soccer Centre.

HUMBER : (banquet & additional events)

All participants, officials and VIP’s are directed to park in Lot # 13, Entrance E. Buses will be accommodated.

Registration will take place at the Crown Plaza Hotel upon arrival in the lobby.

 

ACCREDITATION


Accreditation will take place at the Soccer Centre on Tuesday, November 3, prior to each teams scheduled practice.

A schedule for accreditation is provided. ID tags will be produced for all participants and are mandatory to access all tournament championship venues (Banquet, Competition facility, hospitality lounges, etc.)

The accreditation fee approved by the CCAA will be collected during accreditation.

MEDIA & VIDEO SERVICE

All games will be streamed “live and free” online, utilizing a 3 camera set up and an engineer. All games will be broadcasted online as well, and on Humber Radio 96.9.

Five (5) copies of the game tape, on DVD, will be available to the teams that just competed and the next opponent for those teams, and a copy for the CCAA. The tapes should be available within 45 minutes after the game.

FACILITIES

The Soccer Championships will be held at the Ontario Soccer Center.

Field Turf:

The Championships will be played on an Outside Turf Field. There is spectator seating of approximately 400 plus standing room areas.

Team Room:

Teams will be provided a designated team room for each of their games.

Humber Facilities:

The Humber Soccer Field will be available for additional practices. Teams will have full access to the Athletic Center and Fitness facilities.

   

MEDICAL SERVICES - ATHLETIC THERAPY

The therapy clinic is fully equipped

* athletic injury modalities

 

MEDICAL SERVICES - EMERGENCY SERVICES

The Therapy staff are trained in emergency procedures.

In case of an emergency, the participant will be transported to the hospital located 5 minutes from the game site. A doctor will be available on call for emergencies as well. Appropriate facilities will be allocated for the CCES testing procedures.

 

PARKING

Teams, VIP and special guests will be provided with a parking pass for the duration of the event to put on their vehicle.

 

PHOTOGRAPHY

A photographer will be onsite during the event and will be taking photographs available for purchase.

 

SOUVENIRS

Event specific souvenirs will be available for sale at the venue. Items to include various clothing items, etc.

Athletes, coaches and officials will receive a gift/souvenir from the host prior to, upon arrival and daily.

 

TEAM SERVICES

LAUNDRY SERVICES / TOWELS

Full laundry service available daily, including practice gear and team uniforms. Teams will given laundry baskets and asked to fill out a form detailing laundering instructions. The clothing will be available as soon as possible and can be picked up at nationals Team Service Kiosk at the Soccer Centre.

 

HOSPITALITY

CHAMPIONSHIP BANQUET

The CCAA All Canadian and Coaching Excellence Banquet and the official opening ceremonies will be held in the Seventh Semester Dining Facility – Humber College

The Banquet will take place on Tuesday November 3, 2009 at 6:30pm. Doors open at 6:00pm. Team hosts will escort the teams to the Banquet. Opening Ceremonies for the 2009 Championships will be part of the Championship Banquet. All athletes, coaches and team staff, VIP and games officials are invited at attend. Dress is semi formal and accreditation tags must be worn.

 

HOSTS / HOSTESSES

Two student volunteers will act as hosts for each team from the point of arrival to the point of departure.

 

AIRPORT GREETING / RETURN

The Toronto International Airport is located less than five (5) minutes from the Hotel. Teams and VIP will be greeted at the Airport by Committee members and team hosts and transported to the hotel. Transportation will be also be provided at the airport for departure.

 

HUMBER COLLEGE

The Athlete lounge will be located at the Soccer Center for the duration of the tournament. Beverages and light snacks will be available.

TOURNAMENT SITE

A VIP Lounge will be available at the tournament site. Beverages and a variety of hot and cold food items will be provided during the entire tournament.

 

HOTEL

The Regent Room at the Crown Plaza Hotel will be allocated as an Athlete Lounge during the tournament. It will be open nightly with light refreshments and snacks provided from 9:00pm – 12 midnight.

The VIP Hospitality Site will be open nightly to all coaches VIP and special guests. Beverages and light snacks will be provided. The VIP suite will be open nightly from Tuesday November 3, 2009, through Saturday November 7, 2009 from 9:00pm- 1am.

LOCAL ENTERTAINMENT

The coaches package will contain maps and lists of local cinemas, restaurants and tourist attractions.

 

CLOSING CEREMONIES

The closing ceremonies and awards presentation will take place immediately following the championship game at the Soccer Center. If weather doesn’t permit this, the ceremony will take place in the gymnasium.
